OneDrive has opened it’s doors today. The new brand is still rolling out as we speak, so when you still see the SkyDrive logo on http://skydrive.com (when loggon on) you’re not yet ‘migrated’ to the new environment.
At this moment the new ‘co-owner’ functionality isn’t available yet, but there are some new Upgrade Options available when you’re on OneDrive. On SkyDrive you could upgrade to a 50GB, 100GB or 200GB plan.
Microsoft has announced today that their SkyDrive brand will be renamed to OneDrive (and SkyDrive Pro will be rebranded to OneDrive for Business). If you’re already using SkyDrive (when you’re a Windows Phone or Windows 8 user you probably are), nothing will change but the name. All your files will seamlessly move to the new brand. Microsoft has published a nice video on their OneDrive.com website (click here) and you can leave your email address, so they can let you know when OneDrive has arrived.

On October 5th Steven Sinofsky announced that the built-in Apps for Windows 8 will receive an update. The strange thing is that he announced that the Bing App would be the first one, but strangely enough I already received an update for the SkyDrive App. For now I don’t see an update for the Bing App arriving, but the day (Saturday) isn’t over yet…
Check out the differences below (click on the image for a larger view).
my previous post I mentioned that I could only use 7 GB (of my 25 GB storage) with the SkyDrive App on my iPad (and on Windows). When I clicked around a bit I found a way to upgrade your storage for free. Just right click the SkyDrive icon in your taskbar and select Manage Storage. A web browser will pop up and there you can ‘upgrade’ your free storage to 25 GB!
Everybody with a

This will include, Messenger, Writer (at last), Mail, Photo Gallery, Famility Safety and (the online service) SkyDrive.
