Bye bye SkyDrive…..Welcome OneDrive

OneDrive has opened it’s doors today. The new brand is still rolling out as we speak, so when you still see the SkyDrive logo on http://skydrive.com (when loggon on) you’re not yet ‘migrated’ to the new environment. At this moment the new ‘co-owner’ functionality isn’t available yet, but there are some new Upgrade Options available when you’re on OneDrive. On SkyDrive you could upgrade to a 50GB, 100GB or 200GB plan.

SkyDrive will be rebranded to OneDrive

Microsoft has announced today that their SkyDrive brand will be renamed to OneDrive (and SkyDrive Pro will be rebranded to OneDrive for Business). If you’re already using SkyDrive (when you’re a Windows Phone or Windows 8 user you probably are), nothing will change but the name. All your files will seamlessly move to the new brand. Microsoft has published a nice video on their OneDrive.com website (click here) and you can leave your email address, so they can let you know when OneDrive has arrived.

Windows Live Wave 4 : Live Movie Maker (Finally!)

Today Microsoft released their 4th wave of Windows Live products. And especially Windows Live Movie Maker, the program I was waiting for! Ever since I’ve been married (it’s almost a year ago) and I would like to start editing our wedding/honeymoon video I’ve been struggling with the slow performance issues while editing M2TS (AVCHD) video content with the available video editing applications This was the only reason for my to try to install OS X on my Intel machine.

Fixed Live.Everything

Back in 2007 I created a page on which you could register an e-mailbox with one of the many Live domains. Now, almost 1 1/2 years later the ‘original’ links doesn’t seem to work anymore (Thanks Jay!). So I decided to fix all the links at the _Create @Live.** Mailbox__ _page. If you want to create your own Live e-mailbox with an extension other than the one in your own country, you can use one of the links on the Create @Live.
